Toyama Prefecture is located approximately the same distance away from Japan’s three major cities: Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya. The enhancement of such highway networks as Hokuriku, Kanetsu, Meishin have largely decreased travel time to the major cities. It is expected that such highway networks as the Hokuriku Shinkansen and Tokaido Hokuriku Expressway, and flight networks will further increase areas accessible for one-day trips.
